OCD Awareness Week 13-19th October

“I know that OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. My sister lives with OCD though I can sometimes have obsessive thoughts. I have read the information on the Mental Health Support website and I feel that it is very useful as an introduction to the illness. It clarified the difference between the “obsessive” part of the illness and “compulsions” themselves. I feel that anyone with OCD which has been undiagnosed, would be able to recognise that they have the disorder from the description. I feel the information is sufficient for this form of website as it dose explain the “symptoms” of the condition. I feel it would be better to gain more information by talking to a clinician and having anything explained, in more depth, that would be specific to the person’s own situation.” B.H.

“I live with OCD. I think the information on the Mental Health Support about OCD accurately describes some of the difficulties I experience and I cannot think of anything at this time that could be added to the site.” M.W.

“I Know what OCD stands for and I know someone who lives with it. I think the information on the Mental Health Support page is very good and just to say that OCD is a very common illness and disability.” D.J.

“I know what OCD stands for but I do not know anyone who lives with it. I think the information on the Mental Health Support page is informative, and it’s layout and structure is easy to access and read. I think you could add to the site actual accounts of people living with OCD and how you can support to gain understanding.” S.S.
